Job Description Employment & Litigation Lawyer Looking for courtroom experience without billable hour targets? We're hiring an Employment & Litigation Lawyer to join our in-house legal team. This is a rare opportunity to build meaningful litigation experience while working directly with business leaders in a large and growing organization. You'll manage files from start to finish, appear before courts and tribunals, participate in negotiations and mediations, and play a key role in resolving employment and litigation matters. Unlike many in-house roles, this position offers hands-on advocacy work, early responsibility, and the opportunity to take ownership of your files from day one. What You'll Do Manage employment and litigation files from pleadings through resolution Represent the organization before courts, tribunals, and administrative bodies Draft pleadings, affidavits, briefs, applications, and settlement materials Participate in mediations and other dispute resolution processes Provide practical legal advice to business leaders Support policy development and proactive risk management initiatives Help resolve workplace issues before they escalate into disputes What You'll Bring Active membership in good standing with the Law Society of British Columbia 1–4 years of litigation experience, employment law experience considered a strong asset Experience appearing before courts, tribunals, or administrative bodies Strong advocacy, negotiation, and legal drafting skills Ability to independently manage files and competing priorities Sound judgment and a practical, business-minded approach to problem solving A desire to take ownership, make decisions, and drive matters to resolution Why Join Us No billable hour requirements Meaningful litigation experience from day one Early responsibility and direct ownership of files Exposure to senior leadership and business decision-making Competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits Coverage of professional dues and continuing legal education Opportunity to grow your career within a large and diverse organization This role is ideal for a lawyer who enjoys advocacy, wants to continue developing litigation skills, and is looking for a long-term opportunity outside the traditional law firm model.
