Role Description The Associate Lawyer will handle a range of legal matters, including drafting and reviewing contracts, preparing legal opinions, conducting legal research, and supporting litigation or dispute resolution files. Day-to-day work includes meeting with clients, assessing legal risks, preparing case strategies, and coordinating with colleagues and external stakeholders to move files forward efficiently. The role also involves maintaining accurate file documentation, staying current with relevant legislation and case law, and contributing to internal knowledge-sharing. This is a full-time, hybrid position based in Brampton, ON, with a combination of in-office work and some work-from-home flexibility. Qualifications Licensed to practice law in Ontario, in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario. 1–3 years of experience as a practicing lawyer, preferably in the area of family law. Strong legal research, analysis, and writing abilities, with attention to detail in drafting and reviewing legal documents. Effective client communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex legal issues clearly and build trusting relationships. Solid organizational and time-management skills, including the ability to manage multiple files and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Comfort working in a hybrid setting, collaborating with colleagues both in person and remotely, and using legal practice management software. Demonstrated professionalism, ethical judgment, and commitment to high-quality client service. Experience in a small or mid-sized firm setting and proficiency in additional languages are considered assets.
