Wajax relies upon its legal team to deliver prompt, high quality legal guidance and support to business and functional teams. It is now looking to add another lawyer to this important team. As Senior Corporate Counsel, you will report directly to the Chief Legal Officer and support him on all public company matters. This includes managing securities disclosure and regulatory requirements, advising on corporate governance and ESG reporting, and supporting the corporate secretarial function for quarterly board meetings and the AGM. You will also support strategic transactions and special projects as they arise and assist with broader compliance and general corporate matters as required. This position is based at Wajax’s head office in Toronto, with a hybrid work arrangement, and represents a current opportunity on the legal team. The ideal candidate will have 7-10 years of experience advising publicly listed companies, with significant exposure to securities disclosure and corporate governance matters gained at a top-tier firm or publicly listed company. Experience with corporate secretarial matters is also expected and M&A experience would be an asset. Excellent drafting, communication and stakeholder management skills, along with strong business acumen, are required. In addition, you should have the ability to think strategically and pragmatically and have excellent interpersonal skills, as you will be interacting with all levels of the business.
