The Opportunity Reporting to the General Counsel, the Legal Counsel will provide strategic support and advice to the company on a wide range of legal matters. This is a broad, fast-paced role that requires engagement with operational teams across the business, from real estate and construction to hospitality and corporate services. This is an opportunity to practice in a collaborative, well-integrated legal team and take on varied, interesting legal work that spans nearly every stage of Armour Group’s business, from commercial leasing and transactions to corporate governance and dispute resolution. What You’ll Be Doing Draft and negotiate commercial leases. Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and other agreements across the business. Provide guidance and advice on corporate, employment, and regulatory matters. Provide guidance and advice on litigation, legal disputes, due diligence, and insurance claims. Advise on legal and administrative processes and procedures across the organization. Assist operational departments with dispute resolution. Support full-cycle transactions, including corporate, real estate, and commercial financing matters. Oversee corporate matters, including incorporations, annual renewals, and the maintenance of corporate records. Manage litigation and other disputes, including representation in Small Claims Court. Assist with the review, development, and compliance of company policies and procedures. What You’ll Bring 2+ years of experience as a lawyer at a law firm or in an in-house legal department. Qualified to practice law in Nova Scotia or New Brunswick. Experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex agreements, applying sound judgment. Prior experience with commercial leases is an asset, though not having experience in this area should not discourage otherwise qualified applicants. A proven track record of problem-solving, informed decision-making, and good judgment. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy. An entrepreneurial mindset, comfortable embracing new challenges and taking initiative. Adaptable, with the ability to prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
